ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Pōmaikaʻi Gushiken is a queer Kanaka ʻŌiwi and Uchinaanchu writer from Nānākuli, Hawaiʻi, living in Tovaangar (“Los Angeles”). Their writing has appeared in Color Bloq, Abolition Journal, pacificREVIEW, The Hawaiʻi Review, The Hawaiʻi Pacific Review, and Hūlili: Multidisciplinary Research on Hawaiian Well-Being. They are an Indigenous Nations Poets fellow, recipient of the Māhealani Dudoit Creative Writing Residency, and hold a PhD in Ethnic Studies from UC San Diego.
